Dr James Whitehead FRSA
Dr Whitehead leads education across the Rugby School Group internationally and brings extensive experience from some of the United Kingdom’s leading schools.
Prior to joining Rugby School Global, he served as:
- Head of Woldingham School
- Director of University Strategy at Rugby School UK
- ISI Team Inspector
- He is also a graduate of Oxford University.
During the morning, Dr Whitehead will speak about the Rugby approach to education, including how academic rigour, pastoral care, and character development are brought together within the Rugby School tradition.
What to Expect
Introduction to Rugby School and the Rugby School Group
Families will be introduced to the history, ethos, and educational philosophy that have shaped Rugby School over many generations. The session will also provide an overview of the wider Rugby School Group and how this shared approach is being brought to Hanoi.
Insights into the Pre-Prep programme (Ages 2–6)
The morning will offer a closer look at the Pre-Prep years, which form the foundation of a Rugby education. Families will gain an understanding of how early confidence, independence, curiosity, and communication are nurtured through a balanced and supportive environment.
Exploration of the campus and learning spaces
Guests will have the opportunity to walk through the campus and explore key learning spaces designed for younger children. The environment has been carefully planned to support movement, creativity, wellbeing, and age-appropriate learning experiences.
Admissions process and next steps
The admissions team will provide an overview of the application process, school calendar, and key admissions stages for families considering entry in the coming academic year. There will also be an opportunity to ask practical questions and discuss timelines in greater detail.
Opportunity to meet members of the Rugby School Hanoi team
Throughout the morning, families will have the opportunity to meet members of the Rugby School Hanoi team in a more informal setting. This is intended to allow for open conversation and a clearer understanding of the community the school is beginning to build.
