Building Good Habits in the Early Years
Every parent wants their child to become confident, responsible and increasingly independent. But how do we encourage good habits without relying on constant reminders, rewards or punishment?
Join us for a relaxed and practical conversation about how children aged 2-6 gradually develop the habits and skills they need to manage everyday life. Over coffee, we will explore what parents can realistically expect at different ages, why routines and boundaries matter, and how small changes at home can make a meaningful difference.
This will be an informal and supportive session, with plenty of time to share experiences, ask questions and consider ideas that work for your own family.

About Rugby Table
Rugby Table is Rugby School Hanoi's parent conversation series.
Rather than being a formal lecture, each session brings parents and educational leaders together to discuss the questions that matter during childhood.
Small in size and conversational by design, Rugby Table gives families the opportunity to ask questions, exchange experiences and explore thoughtful, research-informed approaches to parenting and education.

Mark Symmonds - Head of Pre-Prep
Mark has more than twenty years’ experience in primary and early years education, working with children, families and teachers across nine countries. In this session, he will draw on research, classroom experience and the everyday realities of family life to explore how adults can help young children develop positive habits with confidence, patience and consistency.
